The Temporary Mover is responsible for moving university office furniture, non-sensitive laboratory equipment, non-sensitive healthcare equipment, and other equipment and supplies as requested by university staff, faculty, and students. This position is not benefit eligible. Moves and transports office furniture, laboratory equipment, health care equipment and other equipment or supplies. Drives UT vehicles to various locations in the process of transferring or storing University property equipment, or supplies. Assists in the relocation of surplus property. Sets up, arranges, or takes down equipment for special events. Assists in the cleanup of construction sites. Removes snow, ice, and debris during inclement weather from parking garages, sidewalks, and other areas. Performs other duties as required. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of satisfactory work performance in a moving company or experience in a related area. Must have a valid Driver’s License. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to operate a standard shift truck. Good oral communication skills. Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Ability to perform physical labor outside and inside for extended periods.
