Technology Procurement Specialist

The Technology Procurement Specialist will oversee the acquisition and management of technology assets and services, including the review of national procurement strategies for printers and mobility solutions, and the management of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

This role includes budget management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, and vendor negotiations as assigned. This position will play a pivotal role in streamlining IT procurement processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.

This position will be based in one of our many Bird Offices across the country.

What You Will Be Working On

Procurement Strategy and Planning

  • ​Develop and execute national procurement strategies for printers and mobility solutions, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
  • Align procurement activities with the company’s IT roadmap and strategic goals.
  • Plan and manage procurement for hardware, software, and IT services, anticipating organizational needs.

ServiceNow CMDB Management

  • Oversees the management and maintenance of the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Collaborates with IT teams to integrate procurement data into the CMDB for seamless tracking of assets.

National Printer and Mobility Strategies

  • Design and implement a centralized procurement strategy for printers and mobility devices to standardize configurations and reduce costs.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality service, and timely delivery.
  • Monitor usage trends and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.
  • Coordinate deployment and support to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Supplier and Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers for IT hardware, software, and services, including printers and mobility solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and SLAs to achieve favorable terms and performance standards.
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly and address any issues proactively.

Contract and Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee contracts, licenses, and warranties for IT assets, ensuring timely renewals and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of assets in the CMDB, including lifecycle status and ownership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the lifecycle of printers, mobility devices, and other IT assets.

Budgeting and Cost Management

  • Monitor and report on IT procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensure IT purchases are coded back to the appropriate project or business unit.
  • Ensure that printer and mobility procurement activities stay within allocated budgets.
  • Prepare and present budget forecasts and procurement performance metrics.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all procurement activities, including CMDB updates, comply with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor contracts and asset management.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, asset management, or a similar role
  • Proven experience managing IT procurement strategies, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB management is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking equipment, and mobility solutions
  • Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management, including configuration management databases (CMDB)
  • Knowledge of printer and mobility procurement strategies, as well as IT service delivery models
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools to monitor procurement performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Experience with ServiceNow would be considered an asset
