Role Overview: Technician HVAC Fireplace Install Lead (2025-1284) Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HVAC Fireplace Install Lead Technician to oversee and perform the installation of gas, electric, and wood-burning fireplaces, as well as associated venting and control systems. This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is an expert installer with strong communication skills and the ability to guide and train team members on best practices. What You Bring 5+ years of HVAC or fireplace installation experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity. - Advanced knowledge of gas line installation, venting systems, combustion air requirements, and electrical integration. - Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer installation manuals. - Proven track record of leading installation crews and delivering high-quality results. - Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a variety of conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and rooftops. Preferred Qualifications - Gas Fitter License (G1, G2, or equivalent, depending on state requirements). - EPA Universal Certification or HVAC license. - Experience with custom fireplace installations, framing, mantels, and finishing work. - Background in training or mentoring HVAC apprentices. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform installation of fireplace units, gas piping, venting systems, electrical connections, and finishing components in residential and commercial settings. - Plan daily work schedules and assign tasks to installation teams to ensure timely project completion. - Conduct pre-installation site inspections to verify readiness, measurements, and compliance with plans and building codes. - Serve as the on-site expert, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and local codes. - Train and mentor apprentices and junior technicians on safe and effective installation techniques. - Coordinate with general contractors, builders, and homeowners to communicate progress and resolve any installation challenges. - Perform final inspections, testing, and system startups to ensure proper operation and aesthetics. - Maintain accurate documentation of installations, materials, and quality control checks. - Support inventory management, materials ordering, and vehicle/tool organization. - Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
