Job Description: Labour Studies and Planning Create digital twin models using discrete event simulation to help plan future production processes, product and information flow, layout, and buffer types and sizes. Create new automated unmanned logistics solutions to overcome safety, ergonomic, and travel time problems on the production and warehouse floors Maintain the Engineering Standards Database and financial standards Plan daily staffing requirements based on Heijunka volumes Plan 12 week staffing forecast based on Master Schedule volumes Proactive problem solving of production bottlenecks and production variation to resolve throughput, capacity, and labour issues against targets Create bi-annual 12 month operating plan for labour and capacity planning Create annual 5 Year Mid-Range Plan for labour and Capacity planning Facilities Planning Develop optimal short term/long term facilities layout plan for all company facilities to minimize material handling and intra-facilities logistics costs, maximize floor space utilization, promote inter-process communication through highly visual WIP/ assembly processes and an overall intuitive top-level material/information flow through the use of: · Qualitative input and feedback from Layout Team members and Go-and-See activities · Quantitative measurement tools such as material and information flow (MIF) diagrams, process interrelationship diagrams (SLP) and assisting in discrete event simulations · TPS rules of simple and direct pulls, work that is specific and standard Maintain plant layout drawings in CAD software to include day-to-day changes as well as major milestone floor space requirements including: · Technology transitions; New program launches / build-outs; Line loading changes; Inter and Intra-plant logistics Kaizen activities Support new program launches through AQP and PDT meeting representation Coordination of pre-production trial data collection and statistical analysis External customer communications for capacity surveys and trial results Improve processes used in the communication of customer and internal information between Internal Supply Chain, Assembly, P.E., Maintenance and I.E. related to facilities planning and labour planning. Requirements: o Minimum University degree in Industrial Engineering or Equivalent Experience o Minimum 5 years of experience in fast paced manufacturing environment o Knowledge of Discrete event simulation software o Prior Facilities Planning experience preferred o Excellent communication and project management skills o Deep understanding of TPS or other similar pull systems o Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD o Systematic and creative approach to problem solving Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $78,500.00-$110,200.00 per year Benefits: Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Flexible schedule Life insurance On-site parking Paid time off RRSP match Vision care Work Location: In person
