Technical Buyer SUMMARY Support the Purchasing, Production, and Quality Control Departments by sourcing and managing components with precision and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Purchasing / Component Management · Analyze and clarify incoming BOMs and drawings; identify suitable alternative or multiple sourcing options. · Source and procure components, ensuring accuracy, quality, and cost efficiency. · Maintain and develop the library of components, drawings, and BOMs. · Support cost estimation by extracting and validating required components from client documentation. · Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and process RMA (Return Material Authorization) cases when necessary. · Prepare and maintain inspection reports and non-conformance reports. Technical / Production Support · Review and verify manufacturing drawings. · Support the production team in ensuring quality standards are met throughout all stages (prototype, first-off, in-process, and final inspections). · Assist in the design of jigs and test fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency. · Prepare and update assembly and inspection procedures. · Immediately report and follow up on all non-conformances. · Support and maintain manufacturing equipment, quality control instruments, and test jigs. Quality & Continuous Improvement · Participate in the development and standardization of products and internal processes. · Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cablek’s ISO procedures and documentation. · Write technical reports for internal use, suppliers, or customers as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS · Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, sourcing, and verification. · Experience with MIL-Spec or aerospace/military-grade components is a strong asset. · Knowledge of connectors, contacts, and various terminal types (Fast-on, spade, ring, etc.). · Knowledge of hook-up wire and multi-conductor cables. · Knowledge of resistors, LEDs, and other discrete components. · Ability to read and interpret client drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. · Proficiency in coordinating technical literature and spec sheet requests from clients. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally between departments. QUALIFICATIONS · Diploma or degree in Electronics, Supply Chain, or a related field. · 1-2+ years of experience in purchasing, component management, or electronics manufacturing. · Familiarity with ISO-certified or controlled goods environments is an asset.
