Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Carrier Relations Team Leader to oversee daily freight execution and support the development of our Carrier Relations Representatives. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving efficient load coverage, protecting profitability, developing carrier relationships, and coaching team members to improve operational performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced freight brokerage environment, demonstrates strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, and takes ownership of daily execution and team results. Key Responsibilities Identify and resolve operational challenges while maintaining service and profitability expectations. Provide real-time feedback and training to improve team productivity, accountability, and decision-making. Develop carrier relationships to improve coverage capabilities, pricing, and repeat carrier utilization. Monitor team performance, including call activity, coverage efficiency, carrier options, and margin protection. Coach representatives on carrier negotiations, load prioritization, pricing strategies, and execution standards. Monitor uncovered loads, aging freight, pickup risks, and pricing gaps to ensure timely coverage. Lead daily freight execution, including carrier sourcing, load coverage, and operational decision-making. Sage Freight is an equal opportunity employer. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Previous experience coaching or leading operational teams preferred. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), freight load boards, and Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of carrier sourcing, freight markets, pricing, and load coverage. Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment.
