TCG Team Lead – Trading Card Games & Collectibles

Job Summary As the TCG Team Lead, you will lead the Trading Card Game category within Piece of the Game, including sales, customer experience, product knowledge, inventory support, events, and community engagement. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, and other major TCG products, and who enjoys helping both experienced collectors and new players. The TCG Team Lead will work closely with store leadership to grow the category, support the sales team, organize events, maintain product knowledge, and help create a welcoming environment for the local gaming and collecting community. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary in-store resource for TCG products, releases, pricing, gameplay, and market trends. Lead and support associates working within the TCG category. Provide training and coaching to staff on TCG products, customer engagement, and sales techniques. Deliver a high-quality customer experience for collectors, players, parents, and new customers. Assist with purchasing, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management for TCG products. Monitor new releases, product demand, secondary-market trends, and customer buying patterns. Help identify inventory opportunities and recommend products based on market demand. Organize and support TCG events, tournaments, release events, trade nights, leagues, and community activities. Help grow participation in organized play and develop relationships with the local TCG community. Maintain organized, accurate, and visually appealing TCG displays and inventory areas. Support online listings, product launches, promotions, and e-commerce initiatives when needed. Assist with customer trade-ins, product evaluation, and pricing where applicable. Stay informed on grading trends, sealed product values, singles markets, and collectible trends. Work with marketing and store leadership to promote TCG releases, events, and special promotions. Help identify opportunities to improve sales, customer retention, and overall category performance. Maintain strong knowledge of company procedures, store policies, and operational standards. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of major TCG products, including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, and other popular games. Experience working in retail, hobby shops, gaming stores, collectibles, or a related environment is preferred. Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to explain products, gameplay, and collecting concepts to customers with different experience levels. Knowledge of TCG pricing, singles, sealed product, grading, and market trends. Experience with tournaments, leagues, organized play, or community events is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities. Passion for TCG, collecting, gaming, and building a strong hobby community.
