Key Responsibilities of a Taxi Routing Specialist: Route Management & Ride Coordination Assign rides efficiently based on driver availability, location, traffic conditions, and service needs. Monitor active trips and driver status throughout the day. Optimize routing to maximize efficiency and minimize passenger wait times. Adjust ride assignments and routes as operational demands change. Ensure proper service coverage and timely transportation for passengers. Coordinate trip modifications, cancellations, and special transportation requests. Maximize fleet utilization while maintaining high-quality service standards. Driver Support & Communication Serve as the primary communication link between drivers and operations. Provide ride details, routing information, and service updates. Assist drivers with navigation, operational questions, and trip-related concerns. Communicate schedule changes and important service information promptly. Escalate operational issues or emergencies to management when necessary. Support drivers in delivering exceptional customer service. Operations Monitoring Track ride activity, service levels, and trip completion throughout the day. Respond quickly to delays, service interruptions, customer concerns, and routing conflicts. Help maintain on-time performance and operational efficiency. Identify and resolve transportation challenges before they impact service delivery. Support efficient allocation of vehicles and driver resources. Administrative & System Management Maintain accurate routing logs, ride records, and driver activity reports. Update dispatch and routing software with real-time information. Assist with operational reporting and documentation. Ensure all records are accurate, organized, and compliant with company procedures. Support daily administrative tasks related to transportation operations. Qualifications of a Taxi Routing Specialist: Required High School Diploma or GED. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Previous experience in transportation routing, dispatching, logistics, scheduling, customer service, or fleet operations.
