We are seeking a dependable Tank Shipping & Yard Operations Specialist to join our team and support the movement, staging, loading, and shipping of tanks throughout our facility. Position Overview As a Tank Shipping & Yard Operations Specialist at Lannon Tank Company, you will play a critical role in our daily operations by safely moving, staging, loading, and shipping tanks. This is a hands-on, equipment-intensive position suited for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and operating industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous experience operating a yard mule/yard spotter is required. The successful candidate must be experienced and comfortable using a yard mule to safely move large tanks throughout the facility and production areas. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a yard mule/yard spotter to move tanks throughout the facility, yard, and production areas. Use a yard mule to position tanks for production, staging, loading, and shipment. Safely maneuver large tanks in tight areas while maintaining awareness of people, equipment, buildings, and other obstacles. Move and stage tanks throughout the Lannon Tank Company value stream. Prepare tanks for shipment and ensure they are properly positioned and secured for transportation. Load and ship tanks onto trailers using overhead crane systems and proper rigging practices. Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure tanks are shipped accurately and on schedule. Assist with material handling using forklifts and other equipment as needed. Operate skid steers for various yard tasks, material movement, and site maintenance. Inspect equipment and work areas to help maintain a safe and organized yard. Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines. Maintain awareness of load size, weight, balance, and proper handling procedures. Work efficiently under pressure while meeting daily production and shipping demands. Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Required Qualifications Previous experience operating a yard mule/yard spotter is required. Demonstrated experience using a yard mule to safely move large tanks or heavy equipment throughout a facility or industrial yard. Experience working around large industrial equipment and oversized loads. Strong understanding of equipment safety and load management. Ability to safely maneuver equipment in confined or congested areas. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe operating practices. Preferred Qualifications Previous yard operations, shipping, or heavy equipment experience. Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, skid steers, or similar industrial equipment. Experience loading, securing, or shipping large industrial equipment or tanks. Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment. Requirements Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Must be comfortable operating and working around large industrial equipment. Physically able to lift, move, push, and pull materials as required. Ability to follow safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and operate specialized equipment.
