Tandem Dump Truck DZ Driver

About the Positions We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious DZ Driver for our tandem dump truck to join our growing team. The successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience driving dump trucks. As an hourly rental company, our operators work directly with our customers foreman and team and represent our company at all times. We expect all team members to treat customers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Clear communication, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential. Employees must listen carefully to customer requests, address concerns respectfully, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor throughout the job. Respect for the customer's project is critical; operators are expected to work carefully, minimize disruption, and leave the work area in a clean and orderly condition whenever possible. Building trust through excellent customer service is just as important as completing the work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities for Tandem Dump Truck Drivers: Safely operate tandem dump trucks to transport aggregates, soil, construction materials, and equipment. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle inspection records. Ensure loads are properly secured and transported in accordance with all applicable regulations. Navigate construction sites, residential properties, and public roadways safely and efficiently. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, customers, and site personnel. Maintain cleanliness and basic care of assigned equipment. Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents promptly. Assist with other duties as required to support daily operations. Qualifications for Tandem Dump Truck Drivers: Valid DZ driver's license (AZ license considered an asset). Minimum 5 years of experience operating a tri-axle or tandem dump truck. Clean driver's abstract and strong safety record. Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and vehicle safety requirements. Experience working in construction, excavation, or aggregate hauling environments preferred. Familiarity with Ottawa's many quarries an asset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
