Pay: $35.00 / hour (1099 Independent Contractor) Job Type: Temporary / Seasonal (Contract-to-Hire) Dates: November 28 – December 24 Job Overview Hickman Transport Co. is seeking dependable Class A CDL drivers for dedicated USPS holiday peak season postal runs out of Tallahassee, FL . Both runs operate on daily schedules, run straight through with zero layovers, and get you back home every single morning. This position runs through December 24, with immediate opportunities to transition into full-time, permanent positions following peak season. Available Dedicated Routes (Daily / 7 Days/Wk) Route 1: Tallahassee, FL ⇄ Albany, GA Hours: 00:15 – 05:15 (5 hrs/run) Out-and-back turn; no layover. Route 2: Tallahassee, FL ⇄ Valdosta, GA Hours: 21:30 – 03:00 (5.5 hrs/run) Out-and-back turn; no layover. Single dedicated route assignments or combined scheduled relief options available. Highlights & Compensation $35.00 / hour flat 1099 contract pay. 100% Home Daily: Direct dock-to-dock postal freight with zero layovers. Post-Peak Retention: High-performing drivers will be offered permanent route assignments after December 24. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A). Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and current DOT Medical Card. Must pass a standard USPS background check and pre-employment drug screening. Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently commit to overnight schedules throughout the 4-week peak window.
