Summary About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, AK. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Learn more about this agency This job is open to The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Utilize an automated database system for supply requisitioning, property accounting and performing inventories Maintain the supply of communications electronics equipment and computer hardware and software. Act as the focal point for supply and property accountability as the principle hand receipt holder. Requisition, receive, store, issue and dispose of property equipment and supplies. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. A pre-placement medical examination is required. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing research to resolve supply errors; taking supply inventory or editing supply requisitions; and utilizing an automated database system or software program to prepare documents or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
