Supply Specialist
ProComm AlaskaAbout the Role We’re looking for an organized, dependable, and computer-comfortable person to join our team as a Supply Specialist . This position is approximately 6 0% computer and purchasing work and 40% hands-on inventory, shipping, and receiving . Most of your day will be spent working at a computer processing sales orders, creating purchase orders (POs), ordering parts and supplies, tracking inventory, communicating with vendors, and making sure orders are accurate and moving through the system correctly. The other part of the job involves receiving and organizing parts, preparing shipments, checking inventory, and occasionally making local pickups or deliveries. This can be an especially good fit for someone who currently works in an automotive parts department, plumbing or HVAC supply house, equipment parts department, dealership parts department, industrial supply company, or similar environment and is looking for a stable Monday-Friday position with weekends off . You do not need to know our specific systems or products on day one. If you’re comfortable with computers, organized, dependable, and good at keeping track of details, we can teach you the rest. What You’ll Be Doing Purchasing, Orders & Computer Work - Approximately 60% Create and process purchase orders (POs) Enter and process sales orders Order parts, materials, and supplies Track open orders, backorders, and incoming purchases Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status Review orders for accuracy Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records Monitor inventory levels and identify items that need to be reordered Use email, spreadsheets, inventory software, and other computer systems throughout the day Research parts, products, pricing, and suppliers as needed Work with other departments to make sure they have the parts and materials they need Inventory, Shipping & Receiving,equipment - Approximately 40% Receive incoming shipments and verify them for accuracy Stock and organize parts and inventory Prepare and package outgoing shipments Perform inventory counts and stock checks Help keep the supply and inventory areas organized Make occasional local pickups and deliveries, including air cargo, UPS, FedEx, and USPS Help maintain company vans and our forklift Occasionally lift items weighing up to 75 lbs. Maintain the small warehouse and our 1 forklift (we will certify you on the forklift) Other duties as assigned Drive vehicles for tire changes, oil service and to the car wash What We’re Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Are comfortable working on a computer for most of the day Have experience entering orders, creating POs, ordering parts, or working with inventory Are comfortable with email, spreadsheets, and learning new software Pay close attention to numbers, part numbers, quantities, pricing, and order details Are organized and good at following an order from start to finish Are dependable and able to manage your workload independently Communicate well with vendors, coworkers, and other departments Enjoy solving problems when an order, shipment, or part doesn't go quite as planned Have a clean driving history and are comfortable making occasional pickups and deliveries Are willing to obtain forklift certification if you do not already have it Can occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Experience in automotive parts, dealership parts, plumbing supply, HVAC supply, equipment parts, purchasing, inventory control, order processing, or a similar environment is helpful.
