Supply Planner Location: Twin Cities Metro Area (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Position Overview Our client is seeking a Supply Planner to support supply planning activities across internal operations and external manufacturing partners. This role is responsible for translating demand requirements into executable supply plans, identifying potential risks, and helping maintain alignment between customer demand, inventory levels, and operational capabilities. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and supply chain challenges. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage supply plans for assigned product lines and manufacturing partners. Translate demand forecasts into achievable production and replenishment plans. Monitor inventory, material availability, and production capacity to identify potential supply risks. Support mitigation and recovery planning efforts for supply disruptions and constraints. Conduct scenario planning and evaluate impacts related to service, inventory, cost, and capacity. Assist with production prioritization and supply allocation decisions. Analyze raw material availability and identify potential impacts on finished goods production. Maintain and update planning parameters such as lead times, safety stock levels, and replenishment settings. Support inventory strategies that balance customer service expectations and inventory investment. Collaborate closely with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and Finance teams. Communicate supply risks, inventory concerns, and planning recommendations to key stakeholders. Participate in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), S&OP, and other cross-functional planning processes. Support new product introductions, product transitions, and packaging changes. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning processes, data quality, and system utilization. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, inventory planning, or supply chain management. Experience working with contract manufacturers or external supply partners. Strong knowledge of MRP, inventory management, supply planning, and production planning concepts. Experience operating in environments with changing demand and supply conditions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. Preferred Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms. Exposure to Advanced Planning Systems (APS). Power BI or other data visualization and reporting tools. Experience supporting S&OP or IBP processes. Experience with new product launches and product lifecycle transitions. Experience working with multi-level BOMs and complex planning environments.
