Supply Chain & Transportation Manager

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Transportation Manager to oversee production planning, inventory management, transportation operations, and customer fulfillment. This role is responsible for ensuring products are manufactured and delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while balancing customer demand, inventory levels, production capacity, labor resources, and transportation requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader with experience in manufacturing, supply chain planning, logistics, and transportation management. This individual will work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Supply Chain Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory requirements, and manufacturing capacity. Coordinate production priorities with Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams. Monitor inventory levels and material availability to prevent shortages and production disruptions. Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts, and implement corrective actions. Balance customer service requirements with inventory, labor, and production capabilities. Track and improve key performance metrics, including schedule adherence, inventory turns, on-time delivery, and capacity utilization. Transportation & Logistics Manage transportation operations, including routing, scheduling, dispatch, and delivery performance. Lead and support a team of CDL drivers while promoting a strong safety culture. Ensure on-time deliveries while optimizing transportation costs and fleet utilization. Oversee truck and trailer maintenance schedules in partnership with service providers. Monitor transportation performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards. Maintain driver qualification files, inspections, logs, and transportation records. Conduct safety audits, coaching, and training for drivers and forklift operators. Promote safe work practices across transportation and warehouse operations. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer service. Develop reporting tools and dashboards to support business decisions. Analyze operational data and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve performance. Coach, develop, and support team members while fostering a collaborative work environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, supply chain, logistics, or transportation management. Experience creating and managing production schedules in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing transportation operations, fleet activities, dispatch, or CDL drivers. Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and transportation management systems (TMS). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data analysis, pivot tables, and forecasting. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing environments such as foam, bedding, furniture, polyurethane, plastics, or consumer products. Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
