Supply Chain Specialist

Job Title: Buyer Location: Elma NY 14059 Duration: 6+ months Shift: 7:30am to 4pm Pay: $32/hr on w2 without benefits Position Overview The Supply Specialist is responsible for managing assigned suppliers end-to-end, ensuring strong performance in quality, delivery, inventory, cost, and lead time. The role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain continuity of supply and resolve operational issues. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned suppliers and build effective, collaborative relationships. Convert demand requirements into compliant purchase orders. Monitor supplier commitments, delivery schedules, inventory, and performance. Coordinate expedites and reschedules to meet manufacturing requirements. Identify and mitigate supplier risks and potential supply disruptions. Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Drive supplier performance improvement and recovery activities. Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, delivery, and lead times. Support supplier selection, qualification, and development. Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other teams. Maintain accurate supplier and purchase order information in company systems. Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Travel to supplier and company locations as required, approximately 15%. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field. Up to 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, procurement, or supply chain; aerospace experience preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Ability to understand and follow complex procedures and regulations. Willingness to relocate to the Western New York area. Primarily on-site role; hybrid flexibility may be considered. Preferred Qualifications APICS or other Supply Chain/Purchasing certification. Experience in supplier management, procurement, or supplier development. Engineering or technical background. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
