The ideal candidate will be experienced in how global supply chain organizations work efficiently and effectively in managing the flow of goods in and out of the organization. Position Summary Due to continued growth, we are seeking a hands-on, high-urgency Supply Chain Specialist to manage tactical procurement, international logistics, and supplier execution. Because approximately 90% of our raw materials and components are sourced from outside the United States, this role requires deep experience navigating international trade, freight logistics, and cross-cultural vendor partnerships in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. Operating on-site at our Austin, TX headquarters, this individual will drive daily tactical purchasing within our ERP system—managing the full lifecycle from demand signals to PO placement, international delivery, and invoice clearance—ensuring production lines never stop. Core Responsibilities & Objectives Direct Tactical Purchasing & ERP Execution Execute daily procurement tasks within our ERP/MRP system, managing the end-to-end flow of Demand to Purchase Order (PO) to Delivery. Review MRP requirements, generate and issue POs, track vendor acknowledgments, and actively expedite orders to guarantee on-time material arrival. Interface directly with suppliers through PO issuance, order management, price negotiations, cost tracking, and invoice matching through to vendor payment. International Procurement & Global Logistics Navigation Lead procurement for international vendors, expertly managing cross-border logistics, import customs clearance, and global supply schedules. Navigate tight, "hand-to-mouth" logistics pipelines with agility, proactively solving port delays, shipping bottlenecks, and carrier challenges. Foster strong cross-cultural business relationships with overseas suppliers across varying time zones to ensure responsiveness and accountability. Manufacturing Support & Line-Down Prevention Embody an innate manufacturing mindset: maintain relentless urgency and situational awareness to ensure a $0.01 part never halts a production line. Partner closely with production planning, warehouse, and assembly teams to maintain buffer inventory and align material deliveries with dynamic production schedules. Technical Rigor & Quality Compliance Manage complex technical component requirements and documentation flows (e.g., Certificates of Analysis, test reports, engineering drawings). Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance to resolve non-conforming materials and ensure all incoming components meet strict technical specifications. Inventory Control & Supplier Management Balance optimal stock levels against demand forecasts to prevent stockouts without holding excessive inventory. Monitor vendor on-time delivery (OTD), quality metrics, and lead-time variability to drive continuous supplier improvement. Required (Must-Haves) International Sourcing & Logistics Experience: Proven track record in global purchasing/procurement with overseas suppliers (handling supply bases where a substantial majority, ~90%, is imported). Deep practical knowledge of international logistics, trade compliance, freight forwarding, and cross-cultural communication. Direct Tactical Purchasing & ERP/MRP Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience executing daily PO creation, supplier order tracking, and procure-to-pay workflows inside an enterprise ERP/MRP environment.
