Supply Chain & Planning Manager

Every aerospace and defense part we build starts with the right material arriving at the right time and ends with an on-time shipment out the door. We’re looking for a Supply Chain & Planning Manager to own everything in between: purchasing, receiving, inventory, production control, and shipping, run as one connected system. This is a true leadership role. Your supervisors and team leads handle the daily transactions, while you focus on planning, process, and accountability. You’ll be measured on what matters most: on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and material availability. What you’ll own Planning and production control. Oversee the master schedule and capacity plan, lead the MRP process in our ERP system, and run regular supply and demand reviews with Operations leadership. Purchasing strategy. Set the approach for raw material, outside processing, tooling, and MRO. Direct buyers on sourcing, negotiation, and expediting, and hold the team accountable for cost, lead time, and supplier on-time delivery. Compliance done right. Make sure customer and FAR/DFARS requirements flow down to supplier POs, including specialty metals and counterfeit parts prevention, and that ITAR-controlled material and data are handled properly. Inventory and shipping. Set the standards for receiving, traceability, storage, and cycle counting. Drive inventory accuracy, cut excess and obsolete stock, and keep shipments leaving on time. Your team. Hire, develop, and coach supervisors and team leads so they can run their areas independently. Metrics and process. Define and report the numbers that matter, write clear procedures and decision rights, and build cross-training so no role is a single point of failure. Why you’ll like it here Three-day weekends. Your efforts directly support aerospace and defense manufacturing. Leadership, not data entry. You’ll build the system and develop the people who run it. What you bring Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 8+ years in supply chain, materials, or production planning in a job-shop or build-to-print manufacturing environment 3+ years managing supervisors or team leads Hands-on MRP and ERP experience, including leading process change during an implementation Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS flowdowns and ITAR U.S. person status as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.62), since this role requires access to export-controlled information Bonus points for Aerospace or defense manufacturing (AS9100) experience Epicor experience APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) The physical side You’ll split your time between the office and the production floor, including the dock and stockroom. Expect some standing and walking, occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds, and occasional travel for supplier visits. This is a designated safety-sensitive position.
