Supply Chain Planner / Supply Network Analyst / Distribution Planning Specialist

Role Description The Supply Chain Planner / Supply Network Analyst / Distribution Planning Specialist plans and optimises the movement of products, inventory, and capacity across supply, warehousing, and distribution networks. This role balances customer demand, inventory availability, supplier capacity, transport constraints, and cost to ensure products are delivered reliably, efficiently, and in line with service-level commitments. The position works closely with procurement, demand planning, production, manufacturing, warehouse operations, logistics, finance, sales, suppliers, and third-party partners to develop supply and distribution plans. Responsibilities include analysing demand and inventory data, monitoring supply availability, planning replenishment, coordinating allocation, tracking network performance, resolving exceptions, and maintaining accurate planning records and system parameters. The role also supports continuous improvement by identifying supply risks, capacity constraints, inventory imbalances, delivery delays, and cost opportunities. It prepares forecasts, dashboards, and planning recommendations; supports sales and operations planning processes; and helps strengthen supply-chain resilience, service performance, and effective decision-making across the distribution network. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Economics, or a related field. Experience in supply planning, demand planning, distribution planning, inventory planning, logistics analysis, supply chain operations, or a related role. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply-chain processes, including demand forecasting, sourcing, production, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. Experience developing supply, replenishment, allocation, inventory, capacity, or distribution plans to meet demand and service-level requirements. Ability to analyse demand patterns, inventory levels, supplier lead times, production capacity, warehouse capacity, transport constraints, and distribution-network performance. Experience managing or monitoring key planning metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, fill rate, service level, stock availability, on-time delivery, lead time, and supply variance. Familiarity with ERP, supply-chain planning, inventory-management, warehouse-management, transport-management, or demand-planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, o9, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms. Proficiency in Excel or spreadsheet tools; experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, dashboarding, statistical analysis, or reporting tools is advantageous. Ability to identify supply risks, stock shortages, excess inventory, capacity bottlenecks, delivery delays, and network inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions. Experience supporting sales and operations planning, integrated business planning, demand-and-supply reviews, planning meetings, or cross-functional supply-chain decision-making. Understanding of inventory-control principles, safety-stock planning, reorder points, replenishment methods, allocation rules, inventory optimisation, and working-capital management. Experience coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, logistics providers, distributors, internal stakeholders, and customer-facing teams. Knowledge of international logistics, customs, trade compliance, incoterms, freight planning, or multi-country distribution networks is beneficial. Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, organisational, stakeholder-management, and attention-to-detail skills. Professional qualifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, Lean, Six Sigma, or experience in retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, FMCG, healthcare, or global supply chains is an advantage.
