Supply Chain & Operations Specialist
ConfidentialSupply Chain & Operations Specialist Kirkland, WA · Full-time · Onsite About Skyband GPS jamming and spoofing affect thousands of flights every day (GPSThreatMap.com). Skyband Systems is building the M100, an advanced avionics system designed to overcome this growing threat to aviation safety and operational reliability. The M100 combines satellite signals from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) with inertial sensing to give pilots a trusted source of navigation information when GPS is unreliable. We're a VC-backed aerospace startup based in Kirkland, WA, founded by engineers who built and scaled Starlink Aviation at SpaceX. We design, build, test, and fly our own hardware in our own aircraft. The Role You'll be at the center of getting the M100 built and shipped: managing purchasing, inventory, suppliers, and production readiness as we ramp from initial production to dozens of units per month. You'll help create the systems, processes, and visibility that allow our engineering and manufacturing teams to move quickly and confidently. You'll work within our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring our inventory and material-handling practices support accurate records, material traceability, and production accountability. This is a utility-infielder role, and it will grow with the company. Today the work is hands-on: parts, purchase orders, suppliers, and records. A year from now, the job will look very different, and the processes you build along the way will be what our operation runs on. We're looking for someone who spots a problem before it turns into a shortage, fixes the root cause instead of the symptom, and keeps asking which steps we can remove. What You'll Do Receive, track, and cycle-count inventory in our MRP system, keeping stock accurate and traceable Place purchase orders, manage suppliers and backorders, and keep parts arriving ahead of builds Coordinate contract manufacturers, consigned materials, in-house production, and rework Maintain BOMs, shortage trackers, and production records; flag issues early Follow QMS procedures for receiving, quarantine, material traceability, and nonconformance escalation, and propose improvements when a procedure isn't working Find what slows the operation down and fix it: write the missing process, cut the extra step, or automate the repetitive one Assist with the business operations of a growing start-up: finance and accounting support, people operations, IT systems, state registrations, licenses, and keeping our office and shop running Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, business, engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in operations, procurement, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing support, or a similar hands-on role Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where you may need to create a process rather than follow an established one Authorized to work in the United States Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with an MRP or ERP system such as MRPeasy, NetSuite, Katana, Odoo, or similar Familiarity with electronics manufacturing, including BOMs, component procurement, contract manufacturers, and production planning Exposure to quality-managed manufacturing environments, including AS9100, ISO 9001, material traceability, receiving inspection, or nonconformance processes A track record of improving how work gets done, not just doing it: you've fixed a recurring problem, removed steps from a process, or built a tool your team still uses Familiarity with bookkeeping, accounts payable, HR platforms, or small-office IT Comfortable using AI tools and automation to eliminate repetitive work and improve operational efficiency Additional Requirements Full-time, onsite in Kirkland, WA Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and do hands-on receiving, counting and shelving Valid driver's license; occasional local driving for supplier pickups and drop-offs Compensation $100,000 - $125,…
