Supply Chain Operations & Fulfillment Supervisor or Manager

Position summary This role owns the physical execution of customer orders, moving products through light production or kitting, inventory, warehousing, pick and pack, shipping, and fulfillment. It supports retail, wholesale, and lifestyle brand programs with an emphasis on accuracy, throughput, quality, and on-time shipment. The role is hands-on and works closely with Retail Account Operations to turn customer commitments into executable floor priorities. Specialist and Manager candidates share the same operational scope; the Manager also leads people, capacity planning, performance, and process design. Core mission Production and kitting → Inventory → Warehouse → Pick and pack → Shipping → Fulfillment Key responsibilities Light production and kitting • Plan and coordinate light assembly, kitting, labeling, packaging, and repacking against customer specifications and due dates. • Confirm materials and components are available; monitor output, quality, and schedule changes. Inventory control • Oversee receiving, put-away, locations, storage, movements, and cycle counts for components, packaging, work in process, and finished goods as applicable. • Investigate discrepancies, correct root causes, and maintain inventory availability for orders and production. Warehouse and order fulfillment • Prioritize released orders and coordinate picking, packing, labeling, staging, and shipment within required windows. • Monitor backlog, throughput, space, and workflow; handle rush orders and operational exceptions while maintaining safe, organized work areas. Shipping and logistics execution • Coordinate parcel, LTL, FTL, carrier pickups, shipping documents, and delivery appointments as applicable. • Verify carton and pallet configurations, labeling, shipment records, and compliance with customer instructions; help resolve shipment exceptions. Quality, safety, and improvement • Establish practical quality checks and approved packout standards; investigate errors, damage, and rework and implement corrective actions. • Track on-time shipment, order and inventory accuracy, productivity, lead time, backlog, damages, and cost per order or unit. Team and capacity management • At Manager level, plan labor and capacity, lead warehouse and light-production employees, train to SOPs and safety standards, coach performance, and maintain accountability. • At Specialist level, coordinate assigned workflows and daily priorities, with no assumed direct-report responsibility. Candidate criteria Educational background • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. Comparable hands-on warehouse, fulfillment, or production experience is also considered. • For Manager candidates, a bachelor’s degree is preferred; proven floor leadership, inventory control, labor planning, and measurable operational results are essential. Must have • At least 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or production operations involving physical products. • Hands-on knowledge of receiving, inventory control, warehouse movement, picking, packing, and outbound shipping. • Ability to prioritize competing orders and deadlines, identify root causes, and implement practical corrective action on the floor. • Strong accuracy, communication, and cross-functional coordination, with experience using ERP, WMS, inventory, or order-management systems. Nice to have • Combined experience in light production, assembly, kitting, labeling, packaging, and warehouse fulfillment. • Consumer product or major retailer fulfillment, including routing, labeling, carton and pallet requirements, and EDI or ASN processes. • High-SKU or seasonal operations; parcel, LTL, and FTL shipping; carrier or 3PL coordination. • SOP and KPI design, Lean or 5S methods, and experience scaling operations during volume growth.
