Supply Chain Manager
Burnaby, BC (On-Site)
Summary
Our client is one of Western Canada's longest-standing battery distributors, with branches across BC and Alberta. They supply starting, deep-cycle, lithium and specialty batteries and renewable energy products to wholesalers, automotive, RV and marine, and industrial customers. While their industry has softened, they've kept growing, because cu

stomers choose them for expert advice and legendary service. After several years of building clean data and solid processes, they're planning to triple in size over the next five years.
Responsibilities
We're looking for a Supply Chain Manager to own purchasing, inventory, and warehouse operations across all three branches. You'll balance strong customer service levels against smart use of working capital, and help align what the company buys with what it sells. This is a service role: you'll support the sales team and customers, and you'll report directly to the President. It's a hands-on leadership seat with a clear path to broader responsibility as the business grows.
• Lead purchasing for about 1,000 SKUs and roughly $10-12M in annual purchases, from forecasting through PO management
• Build and manage relationships with 5-7 key suppliers, mostly in Asia, including negotiating pricing, lead times, and performance expectations
• Own the inventory budget (about $4M on hand) and optimize stock levels to protect service without tying up excess capital
• Manage shelf life and stock rotation on a product that expires, keeping write-offs to a minimum
• Track and improve fill rates on top-selling items
• Run and expand the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, working closely with Sales to align demand forecasts with purchasing decisions
• Manage inventory transfers between the Burnaby, Okanagan and Alberta branches
• Lead and develop a team of 3 warehouse employees
• Oversee cycle counting and the annual physical inventory, ensuring accuracy targets are met
• Identify and drive process improvements across purchasing, inventory, and warehouse workflows
• Travel to the other branches, an annual industry trade show in Las Vegas, and an annual 7-10 day supplier trip to Asia
Qualifications
• A diploma or degree, plus the ambition and ability to grow into a broader leadership role
• 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management (distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL)
• Senior buyers or inventory planners ready for their first manager role are encouraged to apply
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One is an asset)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort making data-driven decisions
• Experience leading or coordinating a team
• Intelligent, team-focused, and someone with integrity in everything they do
• A backbone, with the customer front and centre in every decision. You see supply chain as a service role, not a territory to protect
• CPIM, SCMP, CSCP, or similar certification is an asset (not required)
What we can offer you:
• $85,000 - $110,000 base salary depending on experience
• Direct reporting line to the President and high exposure to the management team and ownership
• A clear career path into Operations Manager, or branch or district leadership, plus opportunities across the broader ownership group
• Clean data, solid processes and a company that's growing in a softer market
