About Us Armorgard designs and manufactures market-leading products for secure tool storage, efficient manual handling and improved site safety. Our North American business is growing fast, and we are opening a new office in Schaumburg, IL as our US base. We supply customers through a network of third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses across the US and Canada, with a lean team that gets a lot done. The Role Lead our move to a national 3PL partner and help build our North American supply chain and finance base. This is a hybrid supply chain and finance role for someone early in their career who wants to make a real difference. You will run our 3PL network, inbound supply and inventory, and lead two major projects: moving to a single national 3PL partner, and selecting and rolling out a warehouse management system that integrates with NetSuite. Alongside this, you will be our finance presence on the ground in North America. Our Group Finance team in the UK runs the core transactional finance; you will handle local finance tasks and provide the reporting and analysis that helps our North America leadership run a more profitable business. You may come from operations with a strong grip on numbers, or from finance with hands-on operations exposure. Either way, we will help you learn the other side. What You’ll Do 3PL and Supply Chain Manage our 3PL partners day to day: service levels, invoice checks and performance reviews. Model our future warehouse space needs and lead the selection of a national 3PL partner. Plan and deliver a phased, site-by-site transition to the new partner. Manage around 30 to 40 inbound containers a month, working with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and keep landed costs accurate. Own the demand plan, reorder points and inventory health across all locations. Systems and Process Map our order-to-dispatch process and define requirements for a warehouse management system. Shortlist vendors, build the business case and support implementation with our 3PL partner. Find further automation opportunities, including EDI and other tools to reduce manual work. Finance and Reporting Prepare monthly management and profitability reporting for North America. Support pricing, margin, freight and tariff analysis, and North America budgeting. Handle local finance tasks: customer invoicing, returns and credit notes, overdue account follow-up, period-end accruals, and company cards and expenses. Monitor US state sales tax obligations, working with our external advisers, and support the annual audit and inventory count. People and Office Act as the local contact for payroll and benefits, prepare quarterly bonus letters and support HR administration. Help set up our new Schaumburg office and support recruitment as the team grows. Your First Two Years First 90 days: visit every 3PL site, learn our processes and NetSuite, and take on core local finance tasks. Year one: complete the national 3PL partner selection, start the transition and deliver a monthly reporting pack. Year two: complete most of the transition, take the warehouse management system live and automate key order steps. Career path: a formal review for promotion to Supply Chain & Finance Manager at 18 to 24 months, as the projects are delivered. What You’ll Bring At least 3 years’ experience in operations, supply chain, operations finance or commercial finance, ideally in manufacturing or distribution. Strong experience in at least one of: 3PL, warehousing and inbound logistics; or commercial finance, including month-end and margin analysis. Experience gained inside a business, rather than in audit or tax practice. Strong ERP skills (NetSuite strongly preferred) and advanced Excel. Project management skills and the ability to juggle a long project with day-to-day work. Clear communication, and the confidence to hold suppliers to account.
