Supply Chain Director About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Supply Chain Director to provide both strategic and operational leadership across its supply chain function. The organization operates in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is focused on strengthening its operational capabilities to support customer requirements and continued business growth. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Supply Chain Director will oversee procurement, supplier management, material planning, inventory and logistics. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and key operational functions, this individual will play a critical role in improving supply chain performance, strengthening supplier relationships and ensuring the organization has the materials and resources required to meet its operational objectives. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership for all supply chain activities, including procurement, supplier management, material planning, inventory and logistics. Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support operational objectives, customer requirements and business growth. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and lead negotiations related to pricing, terms, lead times, capacity and performance. Ensure material availability is aligned with production requirements, customer demand and changing business priorities. Strengthen material planning, forecasting and inventory management practices to improve efficiency and working capital performance. Monitor supplier performance, material constraints and supply risks, and lead appropriate corrective and mitigation actions. Identify strategic sourcing opportunities, alternate suppliers and initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity. Oversee domestic and international logistics activities and ensure efficient transportation and shipping processes. Establish, monitor and report on key supply chain performance indicators and use data to drive continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, systems and reporting to increase visibility and support effective decision-making. Lead, coach and develop the Supply Chain team while establishing clear expectations, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales and Finance to ensure alignment across business and operational priorities. Support the resolution of complex supply chain issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Contribute to Senior Leadership Team discussions and participate in broader business planning and decision-making. Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and best practices across the supply chain function. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, planning, operations or a related discipline, including leadership responsibility. Experience working within a manufacturing environment; experience in aerospace, defence or another regulated industry would be considered an asset. Strong knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, material planning, inventory management and logistics. Demonstrated experience negotiating with suppliers and managing complex supplier relationships. A strong understanding of supply chain risk management and strategies to ensure supply continuity. Experience improving supply chain processes and driving operational performance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with sound business judgment.
