Supply Chain Director
Asperion AerospaceAt Asperion Aerospace, the materials we buy end up in aircraft and military systems that people depend on. When a supplier slips, a part goes missing, or a contract flow-down gets overlooked, it does more than delay a schedule. It affects a customer who is counting on us. We're looking for a Director of Supply Chain to lead our entire supply chain organization: strategic sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, S&OP, material planning, inventory, logistics, and outside processing. You'll build and lead the team, set the strategy, own our most important supplier relationships, and make sure we deliver on time and at the best total cost as we grow. This is a hands-on onsite leadership role in San Fernando. You'll have a seat at the leadership table and still be on the floor with Operations, Quality, and Engineering, walking over to fix problems as they come up instead of handling them by email. Responsibilities: Lead the organization • Build, coach, and develop the supply chain team across purchasing, planning, and inventory control, including the managers who lead them. • Set the multi-year supply chain strategy and roadmap that supports our production schedules and growth plans. • Bring supply chain performance, risks, and recommendations to the executive team. • Set purchasing policies, procedures, and approval authorities. Own the supplier network • Build category strategies for raw materials, hardware, components, military spare parts, and outside processing. • Select, qualify, and develop suppliers, and make the final calls on the Approved Supplier List with Quality. • Lead executive-level negotiations, including long-term agreements, strategic partnerships, blanket POs, pricing, and terms. • Run supplier scorecards and quarterly business reviews, and hold suppliers accountable. • Drive dual-sourcing, make-vs-buy, and supplier consolidation decisions. Plan for what's coming • Lead the supply side of S&OP with Sales, Operations, and Finance. • Drive material planning in Quantum ERP using MRP and Min/Max tools. • Set inventory strategy and targets, balance them against working capital, and clear out excess and obsolete stock. • Oversee inbound logistics and stockroom accuracy so material is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. Build a resilient supply chain • Run a risk program covering single-source, geopolitical, capacity, and lead-time exposure. • Build contingency plans and buffer strategies for critical materials. • Get ahead of obsolescence (DMSMS) and supplier financial or capacity trouble. Keep us compliant and audit-ready • Make sure every PO and subcontract carries the correct FAR, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and customer flow-downs. • Uphold specialty metals, counterfeit parts prevention, and traceability requirements under AS9100/AS9120. • Own our purchasing system readiness and lead us through customer, government (including CPSR), and prime contractor audits with confidence. • Make sure suppliers handling controlled data are ready for CMMC. Move the numbers • Own the supply chain budget and cost-reduction targets, and report real results. • Use should-cost and total-cost-of-ownership analysis to sharpen negotiations. • Support quotes and proposals with material costs and lead-time data. • Set and improve key metrics: supplier OTD, PPV, inventory turns, lead times, and supplier quality. • Lead ERP optimization, automation, and better analytics across the supply chain. What You Bring • 12+ years of progressive purchasing and supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or military spares. • 5+ years leading supply chain teams, including managing others. • Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and flow-downs, plus experience leading through CPSR or prime contractor purchasing system audits. • Advanced ERP/MRP experience, including leading implementations or optimization (Quantum ERP a plus). • Experience sourcing raw materials, hardware, and outside processing in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environ…
