Director of Supply Chain Location: San Diego County, CA Work Arrangement: Hybrid We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Supply Chain to lead procurement, strategic sourcing, distribution, logistics, and supplier strategy for a growing multi-unit restaurant organization. The Director of Supply Chain will partner closely with Culinary, Operations, Marketing, Development, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure restaurants have the right products, at the right cost, from the right suppliers. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Strategy Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support business growth and long-term objectives. Optimize sourcing, procurement, distribution, and logistics across multiple markets. Build scalable supply chain infrastructure to support future restaurant expansion. Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Manage a large purchasing portfolio across food, packaging, smallware, and operational categories. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards. Analyze commodity markets and manage supply and pricing risks. Distribution & Logistics Manage broadline distributor and distribution-center partnerships. Oversee forecasting, performance reviews, negotiations, contracts, and renewals. Improve inventory optimization, service levels, and operational readiness. Support new restaurant openings with effective supply chain execution. Cross-Functional Partnership Partner with Culinary on new menu items and limited-time offerings. Collaborate with Operations to resolve supply chain challenges. Work with Finance on budgets, forecasts, rebates, and cost controls. Support Development and Facilities teams during new location openings. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain team. Establish accountability, role clarity, and performance expectations. Build a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture. Data & Analytics Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools. Monitor supplier performance, commodity trends, distribution metrics, and operational risks. Present recommendations and business insights to senior leadership. Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience, preferably within multi-unit restaurants, foodservice, hospitality, or related industries. 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing supplier relationships. Strong expertise in restaurant purchasing, procurement, sourcing, distribution, and logistics. Strong knowledge of food and beverage supply chains and commodity markets. Experience supporting rapid business growth and new restaurant openings. Proven success negotiating supplier agreements and achieving measurable cost savings. Experience managing broadline distributors across multiple regions. Strong financial, analytical, communication, and relationship-management skills. Advanced Excel and ERP/MRP systems experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fast-casual or QSR restaurant brands. Experience with multi-state distribution networks. Experience with proprietary ingredient programs. Knowledge of supplier qualification and food safety programs. Experience with sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives. Experience developing supply chain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting.
