Supply Chain Director
Applied Resource GroupDirector of Supply Chain Location: Atlanta, GA Travel: Approximately 20–30% Position Type: Full-Time The Opportunity We are partnering with a growing technology organization to identify an experienced Director of Supply Chain who can take ownership of its procurement, inventory, warehousing, supplier, and logistics operations. This is a senior leadership position with significant visibility across the organization. The person hired will be responsible for strengthening the company's current supply chain operation while building the processes, vendor relationships, systems, and team structure needed to support continued national expansion. A major focus of the role will be cost optimization and scalability . This leader will evaluate supplier agreements, purchasing practices, inventory levels, distribution processes, and logistics costs to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and stronger financial performance. The Director will report into executive leadership and work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success. This person will also provide leadership across the company's purchasing and warehouse functions. The organization is looking for someone who has previously operated in a complex or multi-location environment and is comfortable being both strategic and hands-on. Key Responsibilities Set the overall direction for procurement, inventory, warehousing, distribution, and logistics Build a supply chain strategy capable of supporting continued growth across multiple markets Manage key supplier relationships and lead commercial negotiations around pricing, terms, service levels, and performance Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors, improve purchasing leverage, and lower overall supply chain costs Take ownership of supply chain budgeting, forecasting, and expense management Develop and coach leaders responsible for purchasing and warehouse operations Establish appropriate inventory levels and improve forecasting and replenishment practices Improve the flow of equipment and materials from suppliers through distribution and ultimately to customer locations Work cross-functionally to ensure materials and equipment are available when needed for new customer implementations Create contingency plans for supplier issues, transportation disruptions, inventory shortages, and other operational risks Assess current systems and determine where ERP, WMS, procurement, or analytics tools can improve the operation Develop meaningful performance metrics around inventory, supplier performance, delivery, cost, and service levels Partner with Finance on supplier economics, budgeting, contracts, and future infrastructure investments Maintain appropriate safety, operational, and regulatory standards across supply chain activities Provide executive leadership with clear reporting on performance, risks, costs, and improvement initiatives Continue building out the supply chain organization as business needs evolve What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related discipline Approximately 8+ years of progressive supply chain, sourcing, procurement, logistics, or operations experience Several years of leadership experience within a multi-site, regional, or national operation Experience managing and developing other leaders or managers Strong background negotiating supplier agreements and improving vendor economics Demonstrated ability to identify and execute meaningful cost-saving initiatives Experience managing budgets and understanding the financial impact of supply chain decisions Knowledge of purchasing, inventory planning, warehouse operations, transportation, and distribution Experience working with ERP and/or warehouse management systems Strong analytical skills and comfort working with Excel and operational reporting Ability to build processes and structure within a growing or changing organization Strong communication skills with the ability to work effect…
