Winpak is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator for a one-year term based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to support our Procurement Team.

As a part of the Procurement team, the Supply Chain Coordinator will report to the Supply Chain Supervisor and play a critical role in supporting daily operations through the sourcing, forecasting, and procurement of goods and services, including subcontracted work. This role is responsible for identifying and engaging best-value suppliers, preparing and evaluating requests for quotes, and promoting the standardization of products and services. The Supply Chain Coordinator will ensure internal stakeholders receive timely and efficient support by maintaining optimal material and service levels. Additionally, the role involves negotiating supplier agreements that deliver the best overall value—balancing cost, quality, delivery timelines, safety standards, sustainability goals, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Manage the sourcing, forecasting, and procurement of indirect and subcontracted goods and services based on ERP demand, purchase requisitions, and inventory reports.
  • Prepare, review, and/or maintain accurate records in the ERP system, including supplier data, lead times, cost updates, and order confirmations.
  • Coordinate order priorities with assigned suppliers and assist with delivery schedule changes.
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with suppliers, co-workers, and other business unit peers promoting a one-Winpak mindset.
  • Review and authorize purchase commitments (purchases orders and/or supplier agreements)
  • Monitor supplier’s compliance to minimum/maximum inventory levels for Vendor Managed Service agreements.
  • Monitor supplier’s quality performance and related quality alerts and/or claims; organize returns for credit or replacement and obtains corrective actions.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for assigned goods and analyze slow moving/aging inventory for disposition.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in invoice discrepancies to ensure timely supplier payments and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, ISO 9001, SQF 2000 standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of at least three modules and two interactive workshops in Supply Chain Canada (SCC) Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation program is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, and/or inventory management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a position requiring effective organization, time management, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience using an ERP system for purchasing and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze purchasing and inventory data.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrolment in SCC's SCMP Designation program is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline (e.g. SCC's Supply Management Training [SMT] program, Commerce, Business Administration) is an asset.

  • This position is 100% onsite located in Murray Industrial Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
  • There is limited bus access to this location.
