Supply Chain Buyer/Planner

POSITION SUMMARY As our Buyer Planner, you will be the critical link between our production floor and our supply chain. Your expertise will ensure that the right materials, components, and tooling arrive exactly when needed, keeping our machines running, our schedules on track, and our customers satisfied. You will balance strategic purchasing with hands-on planning, directly influencing our ability to meet tight tolerances and even tighter deadlines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ■ Develop and manage purchasing strategies for raw materials, tooling, and outsourced processes specific to CNC machining and metal stamping. ■ Create and maintain production schedules that align with customer orders, capacity, and lead times. ■ Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery performance. ■ Monitor inventory levels and implement just-in-time (JIT) practices to reduce waste and carrying costs. ■ Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve material or scheduling conflicts. ■ Analyze supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain. ■ Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchase orders, work orders, and material requirements. ■ Support new product launches by sourcing materials and coordinating with vendors to meet prototype and production deadlines. QUALIFICATIONS ■ 5+ years of experience in purchasing and production planning, preferably in CNC machining, metal stamping, or precision manufacturing. ■ Strong knowledge of metals (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, etc.), tooling, and machining processes. ■ Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. ■ Proven negotiation skills and the ability to build strong supplier relationships. ■ Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ■ A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
