Hyundai Rotem is a global heavy industry company that specializes in manufacturing rolling stock, military equipment and plant engineering. It is able to produce all types of rolling stock, including electric multiple units (EMUs), high-speed trains, engine locomotives, wireless trams and magnetic levitation (maglev) trains. In addition, it is ushering in the new era of eco-friendly hydrogen fuel by developing trains powered by hydrogen fuel cells along with hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen markets. Position Overview The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for managing supplier quality activities to ensure all products, materials, and services meet the company’s quality standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on building strong supplier relationships, managing supplier performance, and mitigating risks in the supply chain quality. Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality Management Maintain and manage the supplier quality management system in alignment with company and standards. Evaluate, and perform Supplier Audit and First Article Inspection on new and existing suppliers based on quality, reliability, and compliance. Maintain quality requirements, metrics, and expectations for suppliers. Performance Monitoring & Improvement Monitor supplier performance and manage through KPIs such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and corrective action responsiveness. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related issues. Collaborate with group of multi-cultural individuals to Collaboration & Communication Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers to ensure supplier quality aligns with project and product requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers regarding quality standards, processes, and product specifications. Act as the primary point of contact for supplier quality issues and escalations. Compliance & Risk Management Understand and comply with all relevant regulatory, safety, and industry standards (ISO 9001:2015, IRIS, etc.) Identify risks within the supply chain quality and implement strategies to mitigate them. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or related field Minimum 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or supply chain management. Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards, and tools (ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Six Sigma, Lean). Proven experience in supplier audits, corrective action management, and continuous improvement programs. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 50% Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Desired Competencies Data-driven decision-making and reporting ability. Conflict resolution skills with suppliers. Experience with supplier quality management. Multilingual skill (Korean) is a plus but not required
