Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Location: Sherrill, New York (Onsite) Experience Level: 3+ years Job Description & Skill Requirement: The Supplier Quality will be responsible for the quality of purchased items including new products, new processes and current system changes to regulatory requirements. Participates in supplier development activities and interacts with suppliers to implement corrective actions, improve control plans and eliminate defects. Provides analysis of data for informing and/or problem solving. Job Duties: • Implements quality system procedures and recommends improvements, interacts with team members to achieve daily and long term goals; ensures procedures are followed • Develops quality initiatives to attain and maintain customer satisfaction and focus. • Supports the suppliers on quality activities such as Control Plan, FMEA (failure mode & effects analysis), Process Capability Study, MSA (measurement system analysis), and Checklist, etc. • Provides technical expertise to purchasing function • Serves as liaison between the supplier and Briggs and Stratton in quality activities which may include presenting quality trend data for the purpose of informing and problem solving, working with the suppliers on corrective action reports and verifying its effectiveness • Participates in supplier development activities and interactions with suppliers, implementing corrective actions & improving control plans • Prepares and provides data analysis of finished product and consumer complaint issues and recommends implementation of corrective and preventative actions for supplier improvement and elimination of defects; follows-up process improvements) as needed • Performs supplier PPAP (production part approval process) and obtains project team approval • Completes Suppliers' Process Audit and Key Product Audit according to the plan, and follows up with the improvement plan. • Performs other duties as assigned Priority 1: Automotive, Engine/Power Equipment, Manufacturing, Machining/Assembly Priority 2: Industrial Equipment, Mechanical/Electrical Manufacturing, Supplier Quality Education & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field • 3+ years of Quality/Supplier Quality or Engineering experience • Manufacturing quality experience preferred
