Summary The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that¨NBSP; supplier-provided products and services meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. This role partners with process teams to evaluate supplier performance, address nonconformities, drive corrective and preventive actions, and support continuous improvement across the supply base. Home base will be Kentwood, MI, but travel is 25-50% to our various Mobile Solutions locations Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, quality systems, and technical capabilities for alignment with quality requirements. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Identify supplier defects, nonconformities, and quality risks; coordinate corrective and preventive actions through effective closure. Develop, support, and maintain supplier quality plans, standards, and procedures. Monitor supplier performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Support compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and related business processes. Qualifications The qualifications below describe the knowledge, skills, abilities , education, and experience needed to perform this role successfully. Quality and Compliance Skills Apply quality tools and practices, including print reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), metrology, corrective action, preventive action, and CAPA processes. Demonstrate experience working within Quality Management Systems (QMS). Apply auditor training or auditing experience with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, VDA, and IATF 16949 quality management systems. Understand International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and their impact on supplier quality and compliance activities. **Language Skills ** Read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Interpret technical publications, business documents, financial reports, and customer requirements. Prepare clear reports, business correspondence, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. **Analytical and Mathematical Skills ** Analyze quality data, inspection results, calibration records, process capability, defect trends, and related manufacturing metrics. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in quality, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or a related manufacturing quality role. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications. Certification and Training Required General orientation. Safety orientation. ASQC certification preferred.
