Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role . Experience communicating and working directly with Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers . Previous automotive industry experience. Strong knowledge of supplier quality development practices, processes, and manufacturing. Experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement . Ability to use standard measuring equipment, gauges, and specialized inspection equipment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills. Ability to lead multiple complex projects independently. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project . Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred / Asset Qualifications Experience with PCB board assembly and fabrication . Knowledge of semiconductor devices and their characteristics . Strong supplier audit and process capability experience. Experience leading supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives. Position Overview Seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to partner with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to drive supplier quality, continuous improvement, and product/process excellence. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience with a large Tier 1 supplier and proven experience working in a Supplier Quality role with Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers , preferably within the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities Own and lead Supplier 8D activities for supplier-related product quality issues. Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve product and process quality concerns. Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and containment activities . Work directly with suppliers to develop and implement corrective action plans. Support new product launches and ensure supplier quality requirements are met. Validate and approve Supplier PPAPs and manage annual/carryover PPAPs. Monitor supplier process controls for capability, reliability, and compliance. Lead supplier performance reviews and track corrective action plans. Manage supplier escalations in coordination with Purchasing. Conduct supplier audits and verify compliance with required processes and systems. Coordinate incoming inspection requirements and supplier-related cost recovery. Develop and maintain supplier-approved boundary/PPAP samples. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier products. Monitor and drive closure of supplier Engineering Change Requests. Lead supplier complaints through resolution and financial recovery. Support warranty and customer-related root cause analysis and corrective actions. Analyze internal line rejects, identify trends, and drive supplier corrective actions. Drive product improvements based on internal rejects, OEM returns, and warranty data. Establish and maintain supplier quality KPIs and quarterly performance goals. Escalate quality issues appropriately and ensure commitments are met.
