Supplier Quality / MRB Engineer Location : Tualatin, OR Work Arrangement : 100% Onsite Schedule : Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week Duration : 12 months with potential extension Pay Rate : Up to $51.80/hr Role Overview Seeking an experienced Supplier Quality / Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support factory operations through effective management of Material Review Board (MRB) activities and supplier-related nonconformances. This role will work cross-functionally with supplier engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to drive timely disposition of quality issues, implement containment actions, resolve recurring defects, and improve overall MRB processes. Key Responsibilities Manage supplier-related nonconforming quality issues affecting manufacturing and factory operations. Participate in daily MRB activities and facilitate reviews with supplier engineers, manufacturing, and quality teams. Drive timely disposition of nonconforming material in accordance with established MRB processes. Initiate and coordinate immediate containment actions and communicate status to relevant stakeholders. Track and drive closure of overdue MRB records through proactive follow-up and escalation. Facilitate resolution when disagreements arise regarding disposition ownership or supplier responsibility. Monitor MRB aging, overdue actions, closure performance, and process bottlenecks. Coordinate supplier investigations, rework, inspections, and corrective actions as needed. Identify recurring defect trends and drive corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Lead meetings focused on clearly defined problems, measurable outcomes, and timely resolution. Use data and quality metrics to support decision-making and stakeholder alignment. Develop and implement process improvements to increase MRB efficiency and reduce recurring nonconformances. Maintain clear documentation of investigations, dispositions, corrective actions, and closure activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of industry experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier engineering, operations, quality assurance, or a related field. Experience with manufacturing quality, MRB operations, nonconformance management, supplier quality, or quality engineering. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience using data to identify quality issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple issues and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience facilitating meetings, resolving conflicts, and driving issues to closure. Knowledge of 8D, statistical analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or other high-tech manufacturing environments. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as: Machining Molding Stamping PCB assembly Electronics manufacturing Welding Casting Plating Coatings Experience working directly with suppliers on quality issues, corrective actions, and process improvements. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications. Experience with supplier corrective action requests, root cause analysis, and containment activities. Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process-improvement experience.
