Supplier Performance Improvement & Delivery Assurance Consultant Service Title: Supplier Process Improvement & Delivery Assurance Consultant Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Travel: Extensive travel required Compensation: $45+ per hour Industry: Aerospace Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident Service Overview We are seeking an experienced independent consultant to provide supplier performance support, production oversight, and delivery assurance services within the aerospace supply chain. This engagement is designed for a hands-on professional with a strong background in manufacturing operations, production planning, procurement, or supplier management who can rapidly assess issues, drive recovery activities, and improve supplier execution. The consultant will act as the primary interface between the customer and supplier, supporting production flow, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring the on-time delivery of critical components. This engagement requires a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of a manufacturing organization, from shop-floor operators to executive leadership. SCOPE OF SERVICES Supplier Interface & Delivery Assurance Serve as the primary liaison between customer and supplier organizations. Support production, procurement, and delivery activities to ensure schedule commitments are achieved. Facilitate communication between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customer representatives. Production Monitoring & Expediting Track work-in-progress (WIP) across multiple supplier locations. Identify production bottlenecks, delays, and delivery risks. Expedite critical components and drive timely resolution of supply chain issues. Coordinate recovery efforts to improve delivery performance and material availability. Hand-carry parts when necessary to mitigate schedule risks and maintain customer commitments. Supplier Site Assessments Conduct on-site visits to supplier facilities throughout the United States. Verify production status, monitor progress against schedules, and validate recovery activities. Evaluate manufacturing operations and identify operational constraints impacting delivery. Problem Resolution & Process Improvement Investigate root causes of production delays and performance deficiencies. Work with supplier personnel to implement corrective actions and recovery plans. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements to enhance throughput and operational performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivery, efficiency, and supplier responsiveness. Production Planning & Procurement Support Review production schedules, material requirements, and capacity constraints. Monitor supplier commitments and follow up on critical action items. Support procurement and supply chain teams in managing material shortages and delivery challenges. Reporting & Stakeholder Communication Provide regular status updates on supplier performance, production recovery activities, and delivery risks. Communicate key metrics, action plans, and escalation items to stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of supplier activities, progress, and recovery initiatives. Outside Special Process (OSP) Supplier Oversight Coordinate activities with suppliers performing outside special processes, including: Chemical Film (Chem Film) Priming Painting Heat Treat Anodizing Monitor status, capacity, and turnaround times to support overall production schedules. Desired Consultant Background Successful consultants will typically possess: Experience in manufacturing operations, production management, planning, procurement, or supply chain management. Background in supplier development, delivery assurance, expediting, or production interface activities. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
