Supplier Performance / Expediting Consultant – Aerospace Location: United States – On the Road / Supplier Sites (primarily East & West Coast) Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Schedule: Approximately 40 hours/week Rate: $45–$50 USD/hour Duration: Initial assignments through the end of 2026, with extensions into 2027 Travel: Frequent travel throughout the U.S. (depending the location of the consultant and how comfortable they are with travels) ; business travel expenses reimbursed Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident required About the Assignment Global Partner Solutions Inc (GPSI) is seeking experienced manufacturing professionals to support supplier performance, production recovery, and delivery improvement initiatives for a major aerospace client . This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused consulting assignment . Consultants will work directly at supplier facilities to validate production status, identify the root causes of delivery delays, and support the recovery of critical and past-due parts. This is not a traditional Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain position. Key Responsibilities Validate Work-in-Process (WIP) directly on supplier production floors Track critical and past-due parts through manufacturing operations Identify production bottlenecks and capacity, labor, material, quality, or yield constraints Assess production schedules and validate supplier delivery commitments Develop and support practical production recovery plans Improve throughput and on-time delivery performance Work directly with production, manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, and supplier leadership Escalate critical risks and constraints requiring customer support Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, constraints, and recovery actions Required Experience Minimum 8 years of relevant experience Experience within Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive manufacturing Strong hands-on understanding of manufacturing and production processes Experience working directly on manufacturing shop floors Ability to identify WIP, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and causes of production delays Demonstrated experience improving production output, throughput, yield, quality, or delivery performance Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently at supplier facilities Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the United States (or particular area such as West and East Coasts). Relevant backgrounds may include: Production Manager Manufacturing Manager Plant / Operations Manager Value Stream Manager Supplier Development Engineer / Manager Supplier Quality Engineer / Manager with strong manufacturing experience Supplier Recovery / Delivery Assurance professional Manufacturing Engineer with significant shop-floor experience Preferred Aerospace or Defense manufacturing experience Automotive OEM / Tier 1 experience Supplier Development, Supplier Recovery, or Delivery Assurance experience Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience Experience recovering underperforming suppliers or reducing production backlog Ideal Profile You are someone who can walk onto a supplier’s production floor, locate critical WIP, determine where and why production is delayed , identify the constraint, and work directly with the supplier to accelerate recovery. Candidates whose experience is primarily Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Logistics, or supplier reporting without hands-on manufacturing experience are unlikely to be a fit for this assignment.
