Learn more about this agency This job is open to The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Supervise and reconcile department contracts and pharmacy support systems. Initiate, review, and process procurement requests for pharmaceutical supplies. Perform or direct others to ordering, receipt, and storing of pharmaceutical supplies. Serve as a procurement agent for the Department of Pharmacy using prime vendors(s), contracts, delegated PBA, and/or credit cards authority and procedures to purchase required drugs. Plan work on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis to be accomplished by technicians within the pharmacy. Develop training plans to teach basic procedures and utilization of the computer system(s) to newly assigned staff. Serve as a security manager to ensure security of the pharmacy stockroom. Coordinate and assist with medication recall in accordance with policies and procedures. Prepare periodic reports to the Chief Department of Pharmacy that provide information relative to reverse medication distribution. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment. This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. This position may include shift work or rotating shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call).
