Duties Help Research and resolve issues with shelf-life determinations, expiration notices, reject and shipyard authorized use list. Write technical descriptions for new stock item records and ordering data. Resolve issues with quality deficiency and supply discrepancy reports. Screen supply and inventory requisitions using various automated supply management systems. Determine inter-changeability and/or substitution of non-available items. Identify and recommend alternative sources of supply via procurement or manufacturing. Provide logistical support to other DLA Maritime shipyard sites as needed. Respond to inquiries regarding material procurement, repair and disposal. Education Substitution : Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or, three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. if related. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Evaluate and recommend modifications to material descriptions and specifications. Identify actions with adverse effect on material movement records. Research and analyze history reports. Identify the most cost efficient mode of transportation. Coordinate with government and commercial carriers that all documentation and procedures are adhered to. Access and navigate various logistic systems in order to track and process shipment requests. Reconcile and correct various material discrepancies.
