Summary This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division (FC), Office of Acquisition (FA). This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Associate Deputy Assistant Administrator (ADAA) and plan, organize, manage, and direct all contracting and procurement activities for DEA offices worldwide. Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties As a Supervisory Contract Specialist - DIRECT HIRE, your typical work assignments may include: Assists the Deputy Assistant Administrator in establishing long- and short-range strategic program plans for the Office and implements appropriate goals and objectives. Directs development of detailed studies required for inclusion with staff papers, operational plans, and Congressional and OMB submissions. Builds constructive partnerships and collaborates with executive counterparts throughout DEA and the Department to administer office programs effectively as well as maintain contacts with federal agencies, private sector firms, professional organizations, research centers, universities, and other organizations doing business with or having an interest in office programs. Establishes technical and professional standards in accordance with applicable law, regulation, and best business practices; ensures policies and program plans are responsive to agency needs and objectives. Provides strategic direction and leadership of acquisition systems and technology modernization to support the DEA mission. Requirements Conditions of employment U.S. Citizenship is required. Basic Qualification Requirements : A. Completion of all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4-years experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level of the position, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position.
