Purpose of Role:

Ensure an efficient functioning of HUDBAY's logistics operations, guaranteeing a correct planning of inventory movement and the timely execution of reception and dispatch activities of the company's different warehouses, ensuring timely supply, quality of service and the correct provision of resources (supplies, materials, and equipment).

This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Role Accountabilities:

Strategy, Design & Implementation

  • Develop and implement work improvement programs and procedures, considering safety, user service, and the development of personnel in charge.
  • Resolve problems in collaboration areas related to the supply chain system and define the alignment methodology with an orientation towards service and cost optimization.
  • Optimize work plans ensuring the fulfillment of established goals for the area, both in operational matters and in cost and safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding warehouses.
  • Share leading practices of lessons learned in warehouse management and use consistent methodologies.
  • Frame their performance based on the company's Environment, Safety and Occupational Health, and Human Rights policies, as well as Hudbay Minerals Inc.'s global Anti-Corruption Policy; the Hudbay Minerals Inc. Code of Ethics and Conduct, by virtue of which they commit to comply with the current international standards derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights, and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man, the American Convention on Human Rights, and its Additional Protocol on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, as well as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

Education: 

  • Required: Professional degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
    1. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Supply Chain Management.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of general experience in the field or related areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity (Head, Supervisor, Coordinator, or equivalent).

Technical Skills: 

  • Software: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
    1. Safety & Compliance: Expertise in safety protocols including PETS, PETAR, ATS, and IPER.
    2. Mining Operations: Extensive knowledge of mining materials, spare parts, fuels, explosives, and reagents.
  • Languages: Advanced English proficiency (desirable).

License: Valid Driver's License

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.

Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job, Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet.  Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
