Job Summary: Supervisor Buyer supporting DoD ammunition and defense production programs through procurement, supplier management, and technical oversight. Responsible for sourcing, negotiating favorable terms, volume discounts, and long‑term contracts, and for preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for critical materials, goods, and services. Ensures compliant, on‑schedule delivery, mitigates supply chain risks, drives supplier performance, and maintains safety, quality, and contractual compliance. Impact of the Role: General Profile Working supervisor of a team (spends a portion of time performing the work supervised) or supervises the daily activities of production team members Must have one or more of any direct report type Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work Responsible for results of the team Provides direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions: Supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Leads and manages the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers. Required Qualifications: Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications: Preferred education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree Discipline: Business, Supply Chain Management or related degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. Decision-making skills. Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking skills. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Experience and use of IFS software.
