Primary Objective of the Position:

  • Assign, co-ordinate, and ensure the timely completion of work carried out by the Material Coordinators
  • Assist with the training of material and stores employees and maintain associated training records.

Essential Position Functions:

Receiving, Inspection & Airworthiness

  • Ensure shipping/receiving of all aeronautical parts and supplies is performed in accordance with Cargojet procedures and industry standards
  • Ensure all material personnel perform work such that airworthiness requirements are met, and that no unapproved or suspected unapproved parts enter serviceable stock.
  • Ensure all receiving documents are organized, retained, and forwarded to Purchasing.

Inventory Integrity & Control

  • Implement and manage inventory control systems, including cycle counting, stock-accuracy reconciliation, C-Checks, FAKs and interface with the Finance department.
  • Implement and manage the shelf-life control system for parts and tools, ensuring time-expired and life-limited material is identified and removed from serviceable stock.
  • Ensure correct segregation and identification of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantined, and scrap / rejected material, and control access to quarantine and bonded stock areas.
  • Manage the rotable and repairable component loop, including tracking of units through repair vendors, core returns, and reconciliation of exchanges and loans.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and identification of dangerous goods, hazardous materials, ESD-sensitive items, and calibrated tooling in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • AOG & Operational Support
    • Ensure AOG shipments are set up properly and followed through to completion, including timely updates to Maintenance Control (MCC).
    • Support material planning for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events to protect on-time performance.

     

  • Regulatory, Safety & Housekeeping

    • Maintain current knowledge of Canadian (Transport Canada), FAA, and EASA requirements applicable to aeronautical products.
    • Be knowledgeable of all company and government manuals and documents pertaining to the work, and support the company Safety Management System (SMS).
    • Ensure work and storage areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
    • Perform any other related duties incidental to the work described herein. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, materials management, or aviation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years' aviation materials / stores experience, including supervisory or lead responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of aeronautical parts traceability and certification requirements (FAA Form 8130-3 / EASA Form 1), shelf-life and life-limited part control, and receiving inspection practices.
  • Familiarity with Transport Canada CAR 571 / Standard 571, FAA, and EASA requirements for aeronautical products.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance / inventory management system (e.g., TRAX, AMOS, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure to solve technical problems within the constraints of on-time performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task, with effective communication skills to work across HR, Finance, Purchasing, and Maintenance teams.
  • Ability to travel within Canada/US(10% or less).
