About Fields Cannary Fields Cannary is the world’s first “cannary,” a unique destination bringing together a premium cannabis dispensary (Fields Provisions), an elegant consumption lounge (Amber Lounge), a full restaurant and bar (Rooted Supper Club), and event space under one roof in Muskegon, Michigan. We are seeking an experienced, dependable Shift Supervisor to help lead daily operations across our dispensary and consumption lounge. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager (AGM), this hands-on leadership role combines team supervision, operational oversight, and exceptional guest service to ensure every shift runs smoothly and every guest enjoys an elevated experience. Full-time availability is required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible closing hours. Occasional event support and the ability to cover shifts as needed are essential. Key Responsibilities Shift Leadership: Direct daily shift operations, delegate tasks, support team members, and ensure responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently. Training & Accountability: Train employees on service expectations, product knowledge, operational procedures, and compliance standards. Document employee conduct or performance concerns and escalate them to the AGM. Guest Experience: Lead by example in providing knowledgeable, professional service across the dispensary and lounge. Assist with check-ins, purchases, order fulfillment, guest questions, and routine service concerns. Opening, Closing & Cash Management: Oversee opening and closing procedures, open and close tills, count and reconcile drawers, make change as needed, and count, secure, and seal cash drops according to company procedures. Inventory & Daily Operations: Receive and process deliveries using applicable systems, including Metrc and Dutchie; monitor inventory, support order fulfillment, report discrepancies, and maintain clean, organized, and presentable work areas. Compliance & Security: Reinforce Michigan cannabis regulations and company policies, maintain proper documentation, report incidents, and promptly escalate significant operational or compliance concerns. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with retail, lounge, restaurant, and admin teams to support smooth operations. Make day-to-day shift decisions, assist with staffing coverage, and provide occasional event support as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous cannabis management experience required. Previous experience with staff supervision, cash handling, and inventory management. Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of cannabis products, retail operations, and applicable compliance requirements. Experience with point-of-sale and inventory systems; Dutchie and Metrc experience preferred. Reliable transportation and availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and variable closing times. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Must pass a background check in accordance with Michigan cannabis regulations. Compensation & Benefits Pay: Starting at $19.00/hour, based on experience. Tips: Eligible under the same tip policy as other eligible team members.
