About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Summer Student Logistics Coordinator to support field operations for Gitxsan Safety Services (GSS) and Gitxsan Environmental Services (GES) during the busy summer season.

This role is ideal for a student interested in logistics, operations, administration, or project coordination who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day logistics operations, coordinating field staff schedules, assisting with dispatch activities, and ensuring communication flows efficiently between clients, field staff, and internal teams.

General Duties

  • Answer dispatch phone calls and text messages
  • Monitor and respond to dispatch emails
  • Troubleshoot client and field staff logistics issues
  • Book accommodations and travel arrangements for field staff
  • Perform data entry into inventory and project management systems
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries, pickups, and transportation schedules
  • Track inventory, materials, and equipment movements
  • Maintain organized records, files, and operational documentation
  • Support operational and administrative tasks as required
  • Follow company safety procedures and operational standards

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Administration, or a related field
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Willing to work 37.5 hours per week in-office or remotely for 8 weeks
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Valid driver’s license is considered an asset

Additional Information

This is a short-term summer student position for 8 weeks, partially supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. There is potential for longer-term employment beyond August 30, 2026.
