Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Subcontractor Buyer to support the procurement and contracting activities for automotive manufacturing, plant expansion, facility upgrades, and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of purchasing and subcontract management experience within automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments. This role is responsible for sourcing qualified subcontractors, negotiating commercial terms, managing bid processes, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Sourcing Identify, evaluate, and qualify subcontractors for automotive construction and facility-related projects Develop and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and bid packages Solicit competitive bids and analyze proposals for cost, technical compliance, schedule, and risk Build and maintain strategic relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Contract Management Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, scope of work, delivery schedules, payment terms, and service level agreements Prepare, review, and administer subcontract agreements Ensure contract requirements comply with company policies, legal requirements, and project specifications Manage subcontractor performance throughout the project lifecycle Monitor and report procurement cost performance against project budgets Project Support Collaborate with project managers, engineers, construction managers, and stakeholders to align procurement activities with project schedules and requirement Participate in project planning meetings and subcontractor selection reviews Assist in resolving subcontractor issues, disputes, claims, and change orders Ensure timely delivery of subcontract services to meet project milestones Supplier Performance Management Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews Develop supplier improvement plans when necessary Ensure subcontractors meet safety, quality, and regulatory expectations Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered Experience 5-10 years of purchasing, procurement, subcontract administration, or sourcing experience Experience supporting automotive manufacturing facilities, industrial construction projects, OEMs, or Tier 1 suppliers Demonstrated experience negotiating construction and service contracts Strong understanding of construction procurement processes and project delivery methods Technical Skills Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, and commercial terms Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to analyze pricing structures, project estimates, and supplier proposals Preferred Qualifications Experience with automotive OEM facilities such as assembly p…
