Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Procurement - Strategic Sorucing, the Student Co‑op will support key sourcing, supplier management, and procurement analytics initiatives across select spend categories.

This role provides hands-on experience in strategic procurement, including RFx execution, market benchmarking, supplier engagement, and savings tracking. The co‑op will collaborate closely with procurement leadership, business stakeholders, and suppliers to support value creation, improve decision-making, and drive operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing & RFx Support:
    • Assist in RFx development (RFI/RFP/RFQ), including scope definition, data collection, and supplier communication
    • Support supplier evaluation and comparison processes using defined criteria (cost, quality, risk, capacity)
    • Participate in sourcing events and documentation of supplier proposals
  • Procurement Analytics & Insights
    • Collect, clean, and analyze procurement data (spend, pricing, supplier performance)
    • Analyze market trends and pricing benchmarks to support sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, savings trackers, and project updates to support performance tracking and decision-making
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and clarify specifications
    • Support supplier communication for data requests, follow-ups, and onboarding documentation
  • Process & Operational Excellence
    • Support intake and validation of purchase requests or sourcing inputs
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation
  • Project & Strategic Initiative Support
    • Support or lead defined workstreams (e.g., spend analysis, RFx support, or supplier benchmarking) and present findings to procurement leadership and stakeholders
    • Develop presentations, one-pagers, and executive summaries to support decision-making
  • AI & Innovation: Support the evaluation and implementation of AI-driven sourcing solutions and market intelligence tools

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or related field)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and structured thinking skills
  • Ability to synthesize data into insights and recommendations
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (data analysis, presentation building)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen interest in digital technology, AI applications in business
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to procurement, supply chain, or finance concepts
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI, Excel advanced functions)
  • Interest in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or manufacturing
  • Study focus on Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred

The hiring range for this position is $18.00 - $24.50 CAD per hour. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
