Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Program Manager – AI Data Location: New York, NY – Hybrid Job Type: 12+ MONTHS CONTRACT Pay range: $100 -$106/hr Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Program Manager to support vendor sourcing, onboarding, contracting, and ongoing supplier management for programs supporting AI/ML data annotation and collection. In this role, you will serve as a key connection point between internal sourcing teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. You will help drive engagements from vendor selection and commercial negotiations through contract execution, program launch, and ongoing supplier governance. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, vendor management, and cross-functional program management, preferably within technology, AI/ML, outsourcing, or data services. Key Responsibilities Partner with internal stakeholders to execute strategic sourcing and vendor management initiatives. Manage vendor engagements from selection and onboarding through contracting and program launch. Lead commercial and contract negotiations to optimize business value. Develop and manage supplier relationships, performance, governance, and compliance. Partner with business stakeholders and vendors to establish and monitor service expectations and performance metrics. Provide market intelligence, sourcing updates, and recommendations to leadership. Analyze vendor pricing and cost structures to identify savings and value-optimization opportunities. Coordinate across sourcing, business, legal, finance, and external vendor teams to drive contracts and programs to completion. Prepare clear, executive-ready summaries of sourcing activities, vendor performance, risks, and recommendations. Support ongoing supplier governance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, outsourcing, or vendor management. Demonstrated experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and managing supplier relationships. Strong commercial negotiation skills across areas such as pricing, volume discounts, quality thresholds, service levels, and delivery requirements. Experience managing programs involving business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, executive-ready recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Experience sourcing or managing vendors supporting AI/ML, data annotation, machine learning, or large language model development. Experience managing high-volume data annotation or data collection programs. Experience working with BPOs, crowdsourcing/freelance platforms, or specialized data vendors. Experience analyzing vendor cost models and identifying ROI drivers. Experience within technology, AI, software, or other fast-paced environments. Experience with supplier performance management, governance, and compliance programs.
