About the role: The Strategic Sourcing Manager owns development and execution of magniX's strategic sourcing strategy for assigned commodities responsible for translating category strategy into supplier selection, supplier engagement, and cost and risk outcomes. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports and no ownership of tactical purchase order execution; it operates as the strategic counterpart to the buying team, focused on which suppliers magniX partners with, on what terms, and how supply risk is managed. The Strategic Sourcing Manager leads supplier negotiations, renewals, and day-to-day supplier commercial discussions within delegated authority, and is expected to flex into tactical or surge support (escalations, tiger-team problem-solving) alongside the buying team as needed. Primary Responsibilities: Own the development and execution of category and commodity sourcing strategies for assigned areas, in partnership with the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. Identify, qualify, and onboard new strategic suppliers to support program needs and supply chain resilience. Lead make-vs-buy and should cost analysis in partnership with Engineering and Program Management. Own supply chain readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and lead the transition from development into steady state production. Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic suppliers, including supplier business reviews (QBRs) and ongoing performance management. Lead negotiations for standard agreements, renewals, and pricing within delegated authority; partner with or escalate high-value and strategic negotiations to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. Act as a senior point of contact for supplier escalations that exceed the buying team's scope. Drive cost-reduction and total-cost-of-ownership initiatives across strategic categories. Assess and mitigate supply risk, including single-source exposure, capacity constraints, and supplier financial health. Partner with buying team to ensure smooth handoff from strategic agreements into tactical execution. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management on supplier-related technical and schedule issues. Flex into tactical procurement activities as a senior resource during program surges, supplier disruptions, or team capacity gaps. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience, with significant time in aerospace, aviation, or a comparable regulated manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships. Strong working knowledge of contract terms, cost/should-cost analysis, make vs buy analysis, and supply risk management. Ability to operate independently at a strategic level while remaining willing and able to engage in tactical, hands-on problem-solving when needed.
