Strategic Procurement Leader
Southland TrailersWhy We’re More Than Trailers For 45 years, Southland Trailers has been building more than trailers — we’ve been building a company where people come first. Today, we’re one of Canada’s largest trailer manufacturers with 560+ team members and a simple operating philosophy: people first, processes second, products third. We believe in hard work, open communication, a positive attitude, continuous improvement, and leading with humility and respect. Using LEAN manufacturing and modern technology, we design and build high-quality trailers while constantly finding better ways to work. At Southland, you’ll find a collaborative, hands-on environment where ideas are welcomed, initiative is valued, and your work makes a real impact. If you’re driven, curious, and want to grow with a company that’s going places — you’ll fit right in. We're looking for a Strategic Procurement Leader who knows how to negotiate great deals, build strong supplier partnerships, and develop purchasing strategies that keep production moving. At Southland Trailers, we're not looking for someone who simply manages purchase orders. We want a forward-thinking leader who challenges the status quo, takes ownership, and finds better ways to get things done. What You'll Be Doing Strategic Sourcing: Develop purchasing strategies that ensure competitive pricing, reliable supply, and long-term value. Supplier Relationships: Build strong partnerships, negotiate agreements, and identify new sourcing opportunities. Inventory Optimization: Balance inventory levels with material availability to support uninterrupted production. Cost Management: Identify savings opportunities, negotiate favourable terms, and improve total landed costs. Process Improvement: Streamline purchasing processes, improve ERP accuracy, and build systems that support growth. Team Leadership: Coach and develop a high-performing purchasing team that takes ownership and delivers results. What Makes You a Great Fit You've demonstrated success in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally within manufacturing. You're a strong negotiator with a track record of building supplier relationships and delivering measurable results. You understand inventory management, strategic sourcing, and ERP systems. You're proactive, analytical, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment. You know how to lead people, hold them accountable, and bring out their best. You're always looking for ways to improve how things are done. Why Southland? We're a growing, family-owned Canadian manufacturer with ambitious goals and a commitment to our people. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, professional development, in house cafeterias, and a workplace where your contributions make a difference. Think you've got what it takes? We care about what you've accomplished, not just the titles you've held. If you're someone who takes ownership, builds strong relationships, and consistently delivers results, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us empower people to do it better! We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. By applying, you consent to Southland Trailers contacting you via the phone number and email address provided. Southland Trailers is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and accessible workplace. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process upon request.
