Job type: Contract Starting pay: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and evaluation Reporting location: 230 Watline Ave, Mississauga Licence required: Valid Ontario G licence Job Summary ECS Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced 5-ton truck driver to transport commercial office furniture, equipment and related products throughout Toronto and the GTA. This is a hands-on role involving driving, loading, offloading and assisting our moving and installation crews onsite. ECS supplies the truck. An air brake endorsement is not required. Contractors report to our Mississauga location at the beginning of their assignment and invoice ECS for their work. Hours vary according to project demand. Weekend availability is preferred. Duties Safely operate an ECS-supplied 5-ton truck. Load, transport, offload and position furniture, equipment and related products. Secure loads appropriately and protect products from damage during transportation. Use tailgate lifts, pump trucks, dollies and other handling equipment safely. Complete daily pre-trip inspections and promptly report defects, damage or maintenance concerns. Use the electronic logging device (ELD) and maintain accurate driving and duty records. Communicate with the office about arrival times, delays, delivery progress and job issues. Follow delivery instructions, loading dock procedures and site requirements. Assist crews with furniture moving, unpacking, placement, basic assembly and cleanup as needed. Keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organized. Follow company and site health and safety procedures. Experience and Requirements Minimum three years of experience driving a 5-ton truck , supported by commercial insurance history with a previous company. Valid Ontario G driver’s licence. A recent driver’s abstract. Proof of previous commercial driving and insurance experience. Completion of the driver information form supplied by ECS’s insurer. Driving assignments are subject to the insurer’s review and approval. Experience with loading, offloading, load securement and commercial deliveries. Ability to use an ELD and communicate clearly with the office and crew leads. Ability to perform the physical duties of loading, offloading and furniture moving, with accommodation where required. Reliable attendance, punctuality and professional conduct at client sites. Own safety footwear, safety vest and hard hat required. Schedule and Pay Starting pay of $20–$25 per hour , based on experience and evaluation. Variable hours and start times according to project requirements; weekly hours are not guaranteed. Work may include early mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends. Saturday and Sunday availability is preferred. ECS supplies the truck; contractors invoice ECS for their work.
